The World’s Biggest And Friendliest Half Marathon will be back in town after an amazing 2023 event, and you can secure your place for the 2024 race with Team Kenya.
Join us in Newcastle alongside 60,000 other runners to follow the 13.1 mile iconic route finishing along the sea front in South Shields.
The distance may appear formidable, but the electric atmosphere that envelops the day more than compensates for it. With thousands of enthusiastic spectators lining the streets to rally behind the runners, individuals of all skill levels are warmly welcomed to immerse themselves in the renowned Tyneside spirit. You don’t need to be an athlete to participate – what truly matters is your passion for embracing challenges and creating unforgettable memories.
How to sign up
You can sign up to the event via one of Team Kenya’s charity places, which will guarantee you a place on the start line. Registration costs £100 per person and you will be asked to raise a low minimum of £150 in sponsorship. You’ll receive a free running vest to wear on the day, fundraising advice and the help and support from our team.

To join Team Kenya via this method, please fill out your details in the “Book a Place” form, complete your payment and we will be in touch in due course. This confirms your place with Team Kenya – you will then receive an email from the Great Run Company containing a link to complete your registration for the race when entry tokens are released early in the new year.
